Membership Categories

• Accredited Members – are trained and experienced group leaders from a wide range of occupations e.g. counseling, education, social work, psychology, nursing and youth work.  Accredited Membership of IGL demonstrates to prospective employers and clients that you meet professional industry standards in group work training, skills and knowledge.
• Associate Members – are those who are interested in group leading and/or are working towards full membership (only requires the completion of questions on this page).
• Affiliate Members –  are those who are no longer actively involved at the level required for re-accreditation, but wish to retain a link with the Institute.
• Student Members –  students currently completing full-time study -Receive TOPIGL only

All new applicants for membership commence as an Associate Member by completing the questions on this page. Group leaders with sufficient experience and training can apply to be an Accredited Member. If the IGL membership criteria are met, the membership status is automatically changed for no additional cost.  .

Membership fees:

There are four levels of membership.
ACCREDITED - $85 per year
ASSOCIATE - $85 per year
AFFILIATE AND STUDENT - $45 per year
JOINING FEE - $10 (one off fee)

To join IGL and automatically attain Associate Membership please complete the questions on this page. To become an accredited group leader, complete the same questions, as well as the downloadable accredited membership form and post to IGL - Sue O’Brien, Administration Officer, 6/160 Maxwell St South Penrith NSW 2750.
